Regular PAs

If you will be available to work regularly for Ruth then you can apply for a fixed term contract, typically for one year. This might be for your gap year or as your next step after you leave college or university. Your contract will usually commit you to stay for up to eleven overnights per month.

You share the work with at least two colleagues, which means you have twice as much time off as you are on-duty, and you earn a steady part-time income for your commitment. During your shift you stay with Ruth (24 hours/day), in her home or wherever she is, shadowing her to be available as and when she needs your help. Off-duty, you go home (or wherever you like): back to your uni city, make use of your parents' sofa and SkySports package, volunteer to get that experience that you want for your future career that just doesn't pay, hop about on short breaks to see all those European cities you tell your friends you'll go to some day...

As a regular PA you will have between eight and ten days at home each fortnight, while still earning a significant salary. As long as you are still able to fulfil your responsibilities to Ruth you can do whatever you like in that time!
