Volunteering

If there are no places available as a regular or occasional PA, if you need to get more experience before you start working for Ruth, or if you are not able to work enough shifts at the beginning for you to be trained quickly, you may be able to get started in the team as a volunteer.

Volunteers (when they are over 18) may sometimes take short shifts of their own (maximum two 24-hour periods at once) or could be asked to join a regular PA to provide extra help for travel or special events. As a volunteer, your expenses are paid.

Volunteering can be a way for a student to get the experience this role offers, even when it is not possible to secure a paid job with Ruth.
